The Cove is located in the gated community of Lake Wildwood. Please plan to provide the names of all adults that will be driving into the community so that we can list your names with the gatehouse.
Lake Wildwood is located in Penn Valley which is about 20 minutes from Grass Valley. Across the street from Lake Wildwood is a small shopping center with a Holiday Market that has all food essentials and a few small mom and pop restaurants. In Grass Valley there are many major restaurants and grocery stores.
Garbage day is Monday morning. A service will come by Sunday night to take out the trash cans and bring them back in on Monday. Gardeners come on Wednesday afternoons.
The fun stuff.
The Cove is a four-bedroom lakefront home. Please look at the photos, video, and floor plan to get better acquainted with the home and its layout. All bedrooms feature either a king- or queen-size bed.
The home is equipped with everything you would expect from an Airbnb, including towels, linens, kitchen and cooking essentials, as well as kayaks, paddleboards, a pickleball net, and pickleball equipment.
Subject to weather and availability, we will make every attempt to schedule your group to get out on the lake in our pontoon boat.
What to do.
While we wouldn't blame you for spending your entire stay by the lake, there's plenty worth exploring just beyond our shores should you want to venture out beyond the gates of Lake Wildwood. From Gold Rush towns and swimming holes to great food and beautiful hikes, these are some of our favorite ways to experience Nevada County.
OUR TOP PICKS
If you only have time for a few adventures, start here:
Spend a day at Lake Wildwood
Swim, paddle, lounge by the water, explore the parks, or simply find a shady spot and do absolutely nothing.
Explore Historic Nevada City
One of California's most charming Gold Rush towns, Nevada City is perfect for an afternoon of wandering. Walk Broad Street, browse locally owned shops, grab coffee or lunch, and take in the historic architecture. The Nevada City Chamber offers a self-guided downtown walking tour.
Visit Empire Mine State Historic Park
A fascinating—and surprisingly beautiful—piece of California history. Explore historic mine buildings, gardens and trails at one of California's oldest and richest hard-rock gold mines. The property includes the former owner's estate and the entrance to an incredible 367 miles of abandoned mine shafts.
See the South Yuba River & Bridgeport Covered Bridge
The river canyon is one of the area's natural treasures. Walk across the historic covered bridge, picnic, explore the trails and enjoy the scenery at South Yuba River State Park.
Important: Never assume the Yuba is safe for swimming. Water conditions can change rapidly, and California State Parks warns that moving water can become dangerous very quickly. Check conditions and use extra caution, especially with children.
